So, I have some art up in Chroma's online art competition. All of these images used their archival oil paint to some extent. You can register and vote for these online at the following link.

it's been too long since an update. I should really keep up with this more often, just in case there happen to be any fan clubs wanting new material ;]
homework for portrait drawing class: 3 skull studies.
I have much more to show but not enough time in about 6 hours I need to be up for art history.

Many have already seen this, but even though I completed this in late december I have yet to post it. This commission was done to paint a scene viewable from the client's lot- where their future house will rest. I spent a good 4 hours in some pretty cold weather painting a measly 8x10 alla prima study for this, and although I wanted to work on this mainly from life, scheduling and weather made the final piece completely done in the studio. It was a very pleasing experience to work on something as large as this ( 30x40 inches) and be able to have the piece nearly surround me as I worked.

i haven't painted in nearly 3 weeks. This was an excuse to bust out the paints- good practice. Done on drafting film which proves to be a beautiful and unique surface. I originally was testing charcoal on it which also looks pretty- I wiped the charcoal off with a mineral spirit wash and painted this over it.

Tonight I have a study to show. Based on a bargue plate- commonly used in academic art institutions. Nearly 10 hours were spent on this one, and next time I should probably slow down! While it does look pretty, there are many flaws from the original.
